Family Caregiver Consultation
Online and In-Person Caregiver Consultation Support Services for Adults and Family Members
It can be overwhelming to be caring for a family member or other loved one, and know everything that should be considered when planning for the future of your family member or loved one.
Caring for a spouse or a partner with a new or challenging diagnosis, feeling mounting concern for aging parents, or even planning for your own needs - each step matters, and you deserve to have support as you plan for your future or the future of a loved one.
Topics we can address together may include:
Sorting out emotions related to new diagnosis or different care needs
Understanding how and when to discuss supportive treatment options
Reviewing advance care planning and why a living will and other documents are suggested
Defining care roles with multiple caregivers and how to set expectations
Exploring short and long term care options, including cost
Learning about different kinds of housing from senior apartments to continuing care communities
Understanding when to apply for benefits or speak to an estate lawyer or financial planner
Referring family members to therapy for their own support
As a former medical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in home care, palliative care and hospice, I can help facilitate conversations and move you towards resources that will help you move forward.
